Just a quick note on the manual in the appendix section, “Using dd command to restore a disk image to media under OS X” For the final step, you have the command backwards. Sudo dd if=/dev/diskN of=/dev/diskM This command returns an error. Permission denied.
If disk N represents the USB stick and disk M represents the disk image, than the input file (if) should be M and the output file (of) should be N. Sudo dd if=/dev/diskM of=/dev/diskN This command works. Thanks so much for all your hard work! It’s soooooo nice to finally have bootable toolkit for macs!:3 •.
Alex Hi, Firewolf. First of all thank you very much for this PE.
It`s a life saver. I only have one question. It drove me crazy this morning. I wanted to make an image with carbon cloner.but ccc is asking for administrator user name or password.because of some background serviceswhat is the pass for root? I tried also the username and password for my current install.but it`s not working. Also if you have and idea.I have on one computer ccc installed on Yosemite but i cannot start itit says cannot run from a read only volumestrange. I installed the same version on different computers and used it many times and i never saw this error.
