I recently started posting a procedure for resetting a locked up Motorcraft VCM on Ebay. Descargar Disco De Noche De Brujas 2012 Gratis on this page. I was shocked at how many people have responded with how well the procedure works to reset a locked up VCM.
I wanted to take a few minutes to discuss how a VCM gets locked up and how my procedure can help un lock a crashed VCM unit. A VCM unit can get locked any number of ways. The most popular way is when a software update is being performed and the update is interrupted. The programming can get interrupted by the PC locking up or the battery dying, it can also be interrupted if power to the VCM unit itself is interrupted or the connection is lost. The other very common way for a VCM to get locked up is if a user is toggling between software programs from different car brands. For instance, if you have Ford/Mazda IDS loaded into your PC, and you go to switch your VCM unit to another computer that has Jaguar/Land Rover IDS your VCM will need to re-initialize itself to the program. Often times, I have seen VCM units lock up during this re-initialization.
It is a pretty well known fact that the current Ford VCM units will NOT work with Honda GNA600 software, but some of the earlier units will. I have seen folks trying to initialize a Honda software to a Motorcraft VCM unit and lock the unit up. No matter what means are used to crash your VCM, its not much good if you cant get it running. I have seen that there are several people on the net who make you send your VCM unit in to get unlocked. I have seen at least one Ebay regular charging between 3 and 600 dollars to unlock your unit. You have to package it up, insure it, ship it and than pay a very hefty dollar to do what you can do yourself for a lot less.
My program of unlocking a crashed VCM is a lot cheaper and anyone with basic computer background can do this procedure if your unit is, in fact, crashed from an improper initialization or update. Now bear in mind, you will need a couple things to get my program to work.
Lignikon Serial Number. You will need a PDA, which you can buy used on ebay for 20 to 100 bucks depending on just how nice of a unit you want. Keep in the back of your mind that a PDA can run IDS through a program called PDS which can be downloaded from Motorcraft website for free. You can go onto Ford Motorcraft website, download PDS software to your PC, load it onto a PDA, and not only can you use this to unlock your VCM, but you can use it as a diagnostic aid, to read and clear codes, look at PID's and do any bi-directional work you can do with a PC.
The only thing you cant do with PDS software is re-flash a controller, but everything else is just as easy to do as with a PC. The big difference is that you can use your PDS system to unlock your crashed VCM. You can secure a kit from Motorcraft to connect your PDA to the VCM unit and boom! Your off to the races! The kit to do this includes software on CD, a nice nylon carry case, and the cable required for linking the PDA to VCM. I have seen them on Ebay for about 80 to 90 bucks or are available commercially for about a hundred bucks.
Unfortunately, you cannot use a PC to unlock your VCM, PDS software must be used. When you link the cost of a used PDA, free software from Motorcraft, and a cable kit, combined with my system of reporting the VCM, your looking at getting your VCM back up and running for less than a couple hundred bucks AND you come away with a terrific PDS system that will save you a lot of time and trouble for diagnostics.
This sure beats the hundreds of dollars that some folks are charging to do the very same thing, only you have to give your unit up for a couple weeks. All and all, my system is the far better value!
Now this system is not for everyone with a locked up VCM. If you have a clone VCM unit, you have about a 50% chance of getting it unlocked with my system. I have unlocked clone VCM's with my system, but there are so many companies all over the world who are selling these pieces of crap, its hard to guarantee that anything will work with them. Also, if your VCM is damaged electronically, or physically, this system will not do you any good. Make sure you take the time to do trouble shooting as per the instructions on the Motorcraft website. You can go to the Motorcraft website, than go to technical support, and VCM support and you will find all the information you need to trouble shoot your unit. If your unit was working well before an update and doesnt work afterwards, its very likely that my system can help you.
Feel free to ask questions, and I will try to assist you in any way I can.
